Biography

James Allard completed two undergraduate degrees at the Université de Sherbrooke, in Science (1975) and in Theology (1983). He graduated with a Master of Education (Counselling) (1995) degree from Acadia University. He completed a five-year training program with the Society at Large for Bioenergetic Analysis at Baltimore from which he received the recognition of Certified Bioenergetic Therapist (2004). He graduated from the Université de Sherbrooke’s doctoral program in Spiritual Anthropology (2009).

Mr. Allard received his training in Bioenergetics from the late Dr. Alexander Lowen, the American psychiatrist who developed Bioenergetics, from Dr. Frank Hladky, a Board Certified Psychiatrist who directed the Tulsa Psychiatric Center from 1963 to 1978, and from other close associates of Dr. Lowen all of whom were recognized trainers of the International Institute for Bioenergetic Analysis.

Mr. Allard is a Canadian Certified Counsellor registered with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. He is a Registered Counselling Therapist registered with the Nova Scotia Association of Counselling Therapists.

Mr. Allard has taught in various settings and has been a practising therapist in private practice since 1997.
